The explosively energetic improvisations and interplay of this quintet of Montreal-based musicians focus on group conversation, expressiveness and communication. Joel Kerr’s dark and melodic compositions are heavily influenced by modern and experimental music such as free jazz and avant-garde, and the equally present influence of rock, electronica and punk create a balance of progressively creative yet listenable modern jazz.
